Pregnancy Announcement!

Sooo, there’s a little secret I have been keeping under wraps from you all, until now! I can finally announce that yes, I am indeed very much pregnant Alhumdulillah. We are soon to be a Family of FOUR! Master Z will be a big brother, and myself & Mr Z will have two tiny tots to run after, In Sha Allah.

So, now let’s get to the nitty gritty. The FAQs. The need to know.

When am I due? January 2018.

How many weeks am I currently? 19 weeks! Yup, I know I have hidden it for a long time, but I wanted to personally tell all the members of my extended family on my recent trip to the UK, thus I was staying hush hush about it. I am almost half way through my pregnancy now, and it still seems unreal!

Am I planning to deliver the baby in the UAE or UK? I am planning to deliver the baby here, just as I did with Master Z, and most likely in the same hospital.

What made us decide to have another baby? For those that know me, you will have heard me joking about how I was pretty much done with child bearing as soon as Master Z was born. There was absolutely no way I was having another. Yet, a few months ago, something just clicked. Our minds changed. We decided that Master Z needed a sibling as he got older, just as much as I cherished my bond with siblings (however rough it may get at times!), and also that we would prefer to be young parents rather than wait till we were much older. As soon as we decided, we were blessed by Allah, and myself & Master Z couldn’t be happier.

What are my current Pregnancy Symptoms? Thankfully, I had none of the dreaded morning sickness and to be honest I hardly had it with Master Z. However, I do get tired rather easily, and can no longer walk without running out of breath after about 2 seconds. I am sure I will be discussing my pregnancy symptoms in greater detail in the coming weeks and months.

Do I have a Bump yet? Yup, there is a tiny one, and since my mother insisted on feeding me every 20 minutes whilst I was on holiday at my parent’s for the past two weeks, the bump has grown a tad bigger. Or is that just my stomach? Who knows…

Am I feeling any Movement? Yes, I have felt tiny flutters since I was around 16 weeks, and they have begun to get stronger and stronger since. Baby movement is definitely my favourite part of pregnancy!

How is Master Z reacting to the news? We told him as soon as we found out. I am not sure how much he has comprehended of the fact that he will be a big brother, but he does know that there is a baby in my tummy at least and points to it from time to time asking “Baby?” (almost as if checking it is still in there!). We are trying to involve him in the pregnancy as much as we can, taking him to our baby scans, and he is currently keen on wanting to change the baby’s nappy once he/she arrives. Let’s see how quickly THAT changes!

So there you go! I am sure I will be writing lots more regarding my pregnancy experience in the months to come, from my feelings to products that I will begin to stock up on for the baby as well as myself, from bump shots on my Instagram to hormone related rants! I am excited to be sharing with you this journey into motherhood all over again, so feel free to stay connected on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for updates. Now is also a good time for mothers of more than one child to throw their recommendations and experiences at me about how to cope with being a mother of 2! God knows I’m going to need it!

Also, if you fancy having a read through my posts about Master Z’s pregnancy, you can do so below:

P.S. The beautiful photos that you see in this post have been captured by the very talented Megha Chopra. This shoot was conducted before I left for the UK, in the peak of Dubai Summer, but I was adamant that I wanted a natural outdoor photoshoot to convey our exciting news. Megha was so patient, especially with a very sweaty Master Z, who wanted to throw stones rather than smile for a photo with mummy. Even with the crippling heat and a distracted toddler, she was so creative and took in all of our ideas. Her photos speak for her talent, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better service. Thank you Megha! If you are on the look out for a photographer, I would highly recommend Megha for the job. You can contact her via Instagram and Facebook.
