Things I said Alhumdulillah for in June 2018…

Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulillah during the past month.

Things I said Alhumdulillah for in June:

  1. Having the chance to live through another Ramadan, and I pray that we are blessed with many more in the future In sha Allah. As I have been doing for the past couple of years, I have kept a short “Ramadan Diaries” this year too, which you can read here.
  2. The excitement in the lead up to Eid, not only because it is Little Z’s first ever Eid, but also the excitement for Master Z as he begins to grasp the idea and understand a lot more. I think the Countdown Calendar I created really helped in this respect too, as well as craft activities such as making the Eid Mubarak Wreath with him.
  3. Celebrating my sister’s birthday with the whole family and a lovely Iftar. Any excuse to dress up and take photos really! 😛
  4. Meeting up with friends, and though saying farewell to one of my friends (Tarana of @sandinmytoestk) that I have come to know through this blogging journey is extremely difficult, I know that it is simply part of expat life and we will always be in touch.
  5. Celebrating Eid weekend with the family! It was filled with food, gifts and making memories.
  6. Phone calls with my baby brother.
  7. Getting my mojo back after a little bit of a meltdown when I let the numbers game get to me, and publishing the post that I have been meaning to since my pregnancy! I have compiled a list of my Top 10 Pregnancy Essentials for you, and you are more than welcome to share yours with me!
  8. Squeaky clean teeth after a dentist appointment, though the process to get there is horrid.
  9. Reading books on my kindle. I absolutely love that thing, and also that it allows me to zone out of my daily life for a while and get lots in another realm.
  10. Choosing an Indian Outfit to wear from the box full of brand new Desi clothes that I own. The excitement is real! ha!
  11. Being there for my best friend at the time of need, even though it is not possible for me to be there physically. Oh how I miss the time with my besties back in the UK.
  12. Visiting a family friend’s new baby. Baby cuddles can never stop being precious!
  13. Bringing home my very own car. Alhumdulillah Alhumdulillah Alhumdulillah. Now, if only I could become a pro at driving in Dubai overnight! ha! (and also if only every one in Dubai would indicate with lights when they wish to make a turn…wishful thinking gone too far?)

These are just a few of the many times I uttered the words Alhumdulillah this month. Check out what I was thankful for last month here. Also, here’s a list of what I was thankful for in June last year! What are you thankful for? Feel free to share your moments in the comments section below!
