Things I said Alhumdulillah for in December…

Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulilah during the past month.

Things I said Alhumdulillah for in December:

  1. Having the chance to experience UAE’s 49th National Day. I drew a little doodle in it’s honour here.
  2. Getting a taste of “proper” winter, snow and all, at Ski Dubai. We put on all the layers and had so much fun on the rides and having snow fights with the kids, not forgetting watching the penguins! I have shared my tips on this post here if you are planning to visit too.
  3. Little Z’s cheeky smile. It’s too hard to be mad at the little guy for long.
  4. Hearing only good words about Master Z during his online parent teacher meeting with his school teachers. Alhumdulillah, it is truly amazing how these kids have adapted to this year’s challenges.
  5. Master Z really enjoyed building his own little home from scratch thanks to the Bildits Kit. He’s been adding his own touches to the finished piece too, which is adorable to see. Here’s a cute little timelpase of the building process, and don’t forget to use the code “zeyna20” if you fancy buying a kit for your kids too.
  6. Attending a Zoflora event. Highlight of the month! 😛
  7. Making fake snow which kept the kids busy with messy play for a good solid hour! I have shared the 2 ingredient recipe here.
  8. Celebrating Mr Z’s birthday with a family meal and a home made biscuit cake!
  9. Finally ticking off Desert Safari off our Dubai Bucket List! The boys had the best time dune bashing and riding the camels.
  10. Coming home and being able to remove the face mask. No better feeling! Also, the news of Covid vaccines is amazing and very much welcome!
  11. A fun family day out at Dubai Safari Zoo with the family. We had visited three years ago when Little Z was only a month old, so it was quite nostalgic to return with an almost 3 year old this time!
  12. Mr Z’s love for cooking. He is trying out a new recipe as I write this, and I’m sure it is going to be delicious.
