Day out at Splash ‘n’ Party – Review…

Calling all Water Babies, this post goes out to YOU! Splash ‘n’ Party is the perfect aqua park for a fun family day out, as well as the perfect venue to host your little one’s birthday party. Last weekend, my family and I decided to go and check it out for ourselves to see why it’s being raved about so much.

Located in Jumeirah, Dubai, Splash ‘n’ Party is basically a huge villa dedicated to water fun. The grand villa is not hard to miss at all  and as you enter you are greeted towards the ticket booth where you can grab your wrist bands. The villa itself includes an enclave of rooms specialising in different activities including music and crafts. There is a separate entrance for party guests in to the main water activity area, which is very convenient. I instantly feel in love with the vibrant blue grass-textured floor.

Through the side entrance into the main aqua park, you are welcomed by a vibrant sight. There are two changing rooms located next to the entrance, labelled Mermaid for the females, and Pirates for the males. The changing rooms are well equipped with showers, toilets and basins too.

Once we all hurriedly changed into our swimwear, we began exploring the aqua park. There are two main areas, the first being the main Slides section, and the second is a shallow Splash pad. Both have endless litres of water shooting at you from all directions.

Since Baby Z is aged 2, and my niece, Baby A, is aged 1 year old, the splash pad team recommended we stay with them at all times, which I had no issues with as I love splashing in a pool as much as the next person! Also, since there were four birthday parties going on the day that we went, it was rather crowded, but Baby Z enjoyed making new friends and I think it gave him more confidence watching all the other children swim and slide. It also came to my attention that the wrist bands were colour coded so it was easy to identify which party group the kids belonged to, which must be very helpful.

Above the main slides area there is a huge bucket which tips over with water once it is full every 15 minutes or so, drenching those below and catching them by surprise. There are also small fountains of water as you walk in to reach the slides, each slide of different lengths and shapes depending on the level you are on.

Bordering the two splash areas, there are four designated party sections, each of them themed complete with suitable props, for example Mermaids corner and Pirates corner. The parents could be seen enjoying the drinks and food as they looked on to the happy faces of their children splashing away, water guns and all. There is also a reasonably sized stage on one end where birthday announcements are made, and children can boogey to their hearts content. We caught sight of quite a few good movers and shakers during our time at the aqua park.

The splash pad has a tunnel of shooting water, which was much fun for Mr Z and Baby Z to run through. The shallow water is perfect for smaller children to walk around in. Baby A was hesitant at first, but soon after she was moon walking through the water and splashing away in content.

I really appreciated the staff on hand, brightly visible thanks to their florescent uniforms, who were constantly moving around and monitoring any potential hazards. However, they were no spoil sport either, as they did a grand job of being play mates too for the children, encouraging fun in a safe manner.

Once we had our fair share of water fun, it was time to refuel, and the Cafe provided great food and drinks for this purpose. We opted to get two pizzas, each of them deliciously cheesy and fresh out of the oven, as well as two kids meals that included fries for each, as well as some much needed coffee for the adults and water. Baby Z later grabbed a Pop Corn on his way out from the Pop Corn and Candy Floss stands for the kids. The cafe prices are reasonable considering the freshness and quality of the food being served.

Overall, the kids had such a blast and to be honest, so did we! I loved that the aqua park isn’t so huge that you spend the majority of your time simply walking through it to discover new slides, but that the children can simply enjoy the two play sections to their heart’s content. Splash ‘n’ Party would definitely make for an unforgettable Birthday Splash Bash, offering a range of packages.

The walk in rates for a child to enjoy Splash ‘n’ Party is AED 100 on weekdays and AED 140 weekends, with one adult free entry, and additional adults at a cost of AED 50 each. Slots are available for booking every day from 9 am to 8 pm. Splash ‘n’ Party have also recently launched Membership Rates for those wanting to keep coming back at their leisure with one month costing AED 499, and one year costing AED 999.
