Palmer’s Summer Essentials- Review…

palmers review mummyonmymind

Summer is well and truly here, and I don’t know about you, but I will be here for the most part of it, melting my way through, trying to find shelter in malls. However, Palmer’s has come to the rescue with a couple of summer essentials that you can not live with out for the next couple of months. Read on as I reveal to you what they are, and my thoughts on them…

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Protein Pack

First up is the Palmer’s Coconut Oil Protein Pack. If you have been following this blog for a while, you will know that I have in fact already used and written about this Protein Pack last summer, which you can read about here. The packaging has changed, but before I share with you my experience, let me tell you what this pack includes.

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Coconut Oil Deep Conditioning Protein Pack is a moisture-intensive treatment that helps strengthen and repair weak, fragile or damaged hair. No Sulfates • No Parabens • No Phthalates • No Mineral Oil • No Gluten • No Dyes

Key Ingredients:

  1. Coconut Oil: Restores essential moisture
  2. Monoï Oil: Hydrates and improves manageability
  3. Keratin Protein: Strengthens and repairs
  4. Silk Protein: Restores high-gloss shine
  5. Coconut Milk: Detangles and combats frizz

My experience:

Similar to my last experience, I was shocked with just how much product these packs contain. 60 g of it in fact! The protein pack oozes a thick white cream that is easy to apply over your locks. I must mention here that it smells absolutely divine. The directions of use state two ways of application, one is to apply this after shampooing your hair, leaving it for 10-20 minutes and then washing it off with conditioner, or the second is to leave the mask overnight in your hair.

I am not a fan of leaving masks on my hair overnight, but I still wanted the treatment to work it’s magic by giving it ample time, so I applied a generous amount on my hair in the morning whilst I completed my mummy chores, and washed it off in the shower after an hour.

I did find that I had to wash my hair a couple of times to remove the treatment completely, and I wasn’t a huge fan of the coconut-y smell post drying my hair that clung on. However, my hair definitely felt and looked hydrated and in much better condition to the state it had been previously.

As much as I am not a huge fan of hair masks, if I want my tresses to remain smooth and shiny as I get older, I think I need to make a habit of using this product, especially being safe in the knowledge that it uses natural ingredients and doesn’t have any nasty chemicals.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Foot Magic

This holy grail product has been a saviour. The Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Foot Magic is your best friend for summer months. Here’s why…

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Foot Magic, made with pure Cocoa Butter, enriched with Vitamin E and other natural emollients, provides a deep penetrating treatment for the feet. This unique formulation moisturizes, softens and smoothens even the roughest, driest skin. The addition of Peppermint Oil revitalizes sore, tired feet.

Key Ingredients:

  1. Cocoa Butter: A rich natural moisturiser that leaves skin soft and silky.
  2. Vitamin E: A powerful antioxidant that helps improve the appearance of scars, stretchmarks and imperfections on the skin, giving a more even and toned appearance.
  3. Peppermint Oil: Revitalizes sore, tired feet.

My Experience:

From all the parts of my body, my feet are most definitely the most neglected of all. Those poor things have been in need of a TLC since the 90s, or at least that’s what it feels like when I hear the back of my long dress scrape against my heels. So just as any eager individual follows their new year resolution at the beginning of the year, I have vowed to apply this Foot Magic treatment on my dry feet every night religiously since I received it.

And a week on, I can already see and feel the difference. No more scraping. No more dryness. Say hello to baby-bum-like soft heels and tippy toes. One of the reasons I love this product so much is because as well as Cocoa Butter, it also contains Mango Butter (I absolutely love Mangoes!) , which I think is what gives the gel an orange colour. The gel itself is incredibly moisturising, so whenever I rub it on my feet, it feels like they have been dipped in a pool of cool water and remain so for a while. Though the directions of use recommends to leave it overnight with a pair of socks, I have been using it overnight without the socks (It’s TOO hot!!) and have still seen amazing results.

If like me, you too have been neglecting your feet, or need something in between your pedicure appointments to keep you going, I would highly recommend this Foot Magic! It has worked like a charm, and is very much my summer essential now.
