Alhumdulillah Series

Things I said Alhumdulillah for in September 2017…

alhumdulillah september mummyonmymind

Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulillah during the past month.

Things I said Alhumdulillah for in September:

  1. Celebrating the long Eid al Adha weekend with family. Though trying to find outfits that I still fit into, isn’t much fun!
  2. For a smooth pregnancy thus far. I can not be thankful enough for this. I know I have been incredibly blessed to have had such smooth pregnancy, with only a few aches and pains, and bouts of tiredness, which I spoke about in my First Trimester post. Apart from that I do not have anything major to complain or worry about, health-wise or otherwise.
  3. Having Master Z remember the moments he share with my parents and younger brother whilst we were in UK last month at random times of the day. He does in fact begin his day by watching the holiday vlogs I created of our time, laughing or smirking whenever he sees a funny moment.
  4. For getting positive email replies. And the happy dance that follows after.
  5. The major milestone we have reached this month is finally sleep training Master Z to sleep in his own bed. Although I miss him ( His early morning cuddles make up for it), we all are sleeping much more soundly now, and with another sleep-thief joining us soon, I know we have made the right decision. Read more about how we went about sleep training my toddler here.
  6. Getting up close and personal with the animals at Emirates Park Zoo. Master Z had such a fun time feeding them, even if it still too hot to be out!
  7. Meeting up with friends for a surprise birthday party. And pizza. Yum.
  8. Having my husband travel safely to and back from India for a one week trip. The big run-up hug as Master Z was reunited with his daddy at the airport was priceless.
  9. As I inch towards my third trimester, my nesting senses have very much kicked in. It is time to start investing in the big ticket items as well as the essentials, and so when making my Hospital Bag checklist and Newborn Essentials Checklist, I decided that I will share it with all you Pregnant Mamas out there too! Both lists are FREE to save, download and print to ensure you are well prepped for the baby to come!
  10. That relief when you are done with your GDT (Gestational Diabetes Test). Because it lasts 3 hours, drawing blood and urine samples from you at every one hour interval, and no food consumption until the test is complete is allowed. Worst part of being pregnant. Also, Alhumdulillah when you receive the results to say you do not have gestational diabetes.
  11. Catching up with my fellow lovely Mummy Blogger friends after a long summer.
  12. Foggy Mornings. As dangerous and scary they may be (Please be careful!), it means Winter Is Coming. FINALLY!

These are just a few of the many times I uttered the words Alhumdulillah this month. Check out what I was thankful for last month here.  Also, here’s a list of what I was thankful for in September last year! What are you thankful for? Feel free to share your moments in the comments section below!
