Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulillah during the past month.

Things I said Alhumdulillah for in January:

  1. The birth of my darling second son, Little Z. The labour and delivery itself could not have been better, Alhumdulillah. (Read my Birth Story here.)
  2. The unrelenting support of my husband, through out the tears and offloading of emotions. He is the most patient man on this planet!
  3. Watching Master Z love his baby brother so wholeheartedly. He gives Little Z a kiss as soon as he wakes up in the morning and from his afternoon nap, as well as every time he passes him by.
  4. The love and good wishes for the new addition from family, friends and readers alike. It has been so overwhelming.
  5. For getting the latch right and finding breastfeeding SO much easier this time round, though it is still painful at the beginning.
  6. For how grown up Master Z seems. Both physically and mentally. Like I’m talking GIGANTIC in relation to Little Z.
  7. For capturing the precious moments of Little Z through a newborn photograph shoot by Pink Pepper Photography.
  8. For celebrating completing 3 years of blogging. Here’s to many many more.
  9. Resisting the urge to eat those little baby hands and feet! hehe!
  10. For when both boys nap together, so I can sneak in a nap too! I MISS YOU SLEEP!

These are just a few of the many times I uttered the words Alhumdulillah this month. Check out what I was thankful for last month here. Also, here’s a list of what I was thankful for in January last year! What are you thankful for? Feel free to share your moments in the comments section below!
