Things I said Alhumdulillah for in March 2018…

Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulillah during the past month.

Things I said Alhumdulillah for in March:

  1. Discovering the hand written cards and letters I used to send to Mr Z whilst we were engaged. It seems like decades ago now, but it was the only way we survived a long distance relationship with him being in Dubai and me in England.
  2. Creating a newborn keepsake album. In this day and age, where we have all our photos and videos stored on our phones and desktops, it’s nice to be old-school and turn pages to look back at the precious moments inside an album.
  3. Hearing Little Z “talk” and respond with grunts and coos as we talk to him. And that raise of an eyebrow makes me laugh every time.
  4. Asking Master Z whether we should return Little Z back to the hospital, and him responding with a strong No and kissing his little brother. Hehe! I guess we gotta keep him then!
  5. Hosting friends for a get together at our home.
  6. Meeting the faces behind some amazing brands through a networking event by @5toconnect!
  7. A pool and beach day in Ras Al Khaimah. Good food, good ambiance and Master Z got to play in the sand with his huge Cement Mixer toy. A memorable relaxing family day indeed.
  8. Mr Z reaching India safe and sound for a short (but seems Very long) trip of 10 days. So I’m solo parenting TWO kids for the very first time, and so far survived to tell the tale! Also, Babywearing has been such a HUGE help!
  9. A kind gesture from a stranger that made my day. Read the full story here.
  10. A Family day out at Legoland Dubai to distract Master Z from missing his daddy dearest.
  11. Reverting back to whatsapp messages, voice notes and hurried phone calls to communicate with Mr Z whilst he is in India. Distance really does make the heart grow fonder.
  12. Hearing Master Z talk to his toys when playing with all his cars and superhero figures. It’s hilarious!

These are just a few of the many times I uttered the words Alhumdulillah this month. Check out what I was thankful for last month here. Also, here’s a list of what I was thankful for in March last year! What are you thankful for? Feel free to share your moments in the comments section below!
