Alhumdulillah Series

Things I said Alhumdulillah for in July 2019…

Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulilah during the past month.

Things I said Alhumdulillah for in July:

  1. Settling into our new flat in Dubai. Putting my interior-decorator hat on now….
  2. Attending Master Z’s end of school year Parent-Teacher meeting where his teacher was full of praises about him. I can’t believe he has completed one whole year of school, and how much he has grown in his academic environment. I am one proud Mama!
  3. Weaning Little Z off breast milk completely. It’s been emotional to say the least, but it was the right time and we are both sleeping so much better at night for it.
  4. Welcoming a new addition to the family as my sister delivered her second baby.
  5. Newborn cuddles. Need I say more?
  6. Having my mother join us for the rest of the summer, and love the fact she has taken us all under her wing only as Mums know how to.
  7. Watching my boys play with their grandmother and Uncle A. Expat life is bitter sweet, and being able to witness the special bond between grandparents and grandchildren makes it ten times more special when you live thousands of miles apart.
  8. My Mum’s food. Nothing beats Mummy’s “Haat Ka Khana” right?
  9. Shopping sales. 😛 The thrill of finding a gorgeous dress at knock off prices is unreal…am I right, or am I right?
  10. Swimming in the pool with the family.
  11. Getting Little Z’s 18 month vaccinations done, with pretty much no fever or dip in his energy levels after the jabs. I could have done with some down time to be honest. 😛 but Alhumdulillah for his good health.
