Things I said Alhumdulillah for in December 2019…

Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulilah during the past month.

Things I said Alhumdulillah for in December:

  1. Celebrating UAE National Day with the family in the great outdoors, filled with long drives, food and laughter.
  2. Enjoying an Indian Thaali lunch with one of my favourite souls and her family, Tani, who I have been blessed to connect with over the past few years. As sad as I am to see her leave Dubai, I’m excited for the next expat journey in Singapore.
  3. Cheering on Master Z at his Sport’s Day! The boy did us proud, and was full of waves and smiles!
  4. Watching Master Z bake whilst Little Z giggled away as he made his own “Roti” at Baker’s Kitchen. Perfect activity to get us in the cosy winter mood.
  5. Rain and grey moody skies.
  6. Managing to make a quick trip to the salon in between all the chaos. Because #SelfCare innit?
  7. Surviving a 7 hour flight with both my boys to the UK for our winter holidays at my parent’s.
  8. Staying in London for a couple of days, and enjoying all the festive lights and decorations! Soo soo pretty!
  9. Watching the boys make memories and laugh with their grandparents and Uncle A!
  10. Watching Master Z be at one with nature, searching for earthworms in his wellies and learning to ride a bike with his granddad.
  11. Long chats with my baby brother, who isn’t so little anymore, about anything and everything.

These are just a few of the many times I uttered the words Alhumdulillah this month. Check out what I was thankful for last month here. Also, here’s a list of what I was thankful for in December last year! What are you thankful for? Feel free to share your moments in the comments section below.
