Things I said Alhumdulillah for in August 2017…

Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulillah during the past month.

Things I said Alhumdulillah for in August:

  1. For the first half of this month, I was pretty much off Mama duty thanks to being back in the UK with my parents and brother, who took such good care of Master Z, whilst my own dear mother fed me pretty much every 15 minutes! It was heavenly! ha!
  2. Celebrating my birthday in the UK, and though it was strange not being with my husband, it was great to spend the day showing Master Z the animals at Twycross Zoo and ending the day with a lovely dinner at Tipu Sultan.
  3. Being reunited with my best friends after 2 years, and going out for a major catch up meal. This post says it all.
  4. Ice Cream Vans during British Summer. Need I say more?
  5. Watching my parents and brother laugh hysterically at Master Z’s antics. It is difficult being an expat and perhaps cruel for them not to be a part of their grand son’s lives due to the distance, however when we are all together, the moments shared and memories made are priceless.
  6. Being reunited with my husband after 2 weeks away. I did miss that boy.
  7. This month I could finally reveal my big secret through this Pregnancy Announcement! I thank God every day for the blessing that is growing inside of me, and so humbled by the lovely messages I received upon sharing my special news with you all.
  8. Celebrating my and Mr Z’s 4th wedding anniversary! 4 years of happiness, laughter, squabbling, whinging, loving and hugging. In sha Allah, many many many more years of this to come.
  9. I have been trying and loving a couple of new products from Palmer’s that I have shared my experience about here, and I am also looking to be sharing with you my Pregnancy Skin Care routine, so stay tuned for that too!
  10. For Mr A, my baby brother, getting superb grades in his A-Level exams, and set to start University next month!
  11. There have been heaps of Back To School events and collaborations that I have been so happy to be a part of this month. One of those that I featured on Local Flair is Rock Paper Scissors, a website of quirky playful back to school items and accessories for your children. Be sure to check it out, and all the very best to you if your little one is set to begin a new school year in the next few days!
  12. Celebrating my niece’s 2nd Birthday! How is that munchkin TWO already?!
  13. Celebrating (in spirit) Mr A’s birthday and him turning 18! I shall still carry on calling him my baby brother of course, even when he is old and grey. In sha Allah.
  14. As you can tell from this list, August is a very expensive month for us because it is full of birthdays and anniversaries, which means we are pretty skint now from all the gift buying. haha! Yet, Allah carries on giving Barkat Alhumdulillah.

These are just a few of the many times I uttered the words Alhumdulillah this month. Check out what I was thankful for last month here.  Also, here’s a list of what I was thankful for in August last year! What are you thankful for? Feel free to share your moments in the comments section below!
