RISE: Dubai Creek Harbour…

RISE: Dubai Creek Harbour is back for it’s second season! We really enjoyed catching sunsets at this place last year, and last weekend when we visited RISE for the launch of it’s second season, the sunset still looked just as breathtaking over the Dubai skyline.

RISE: Dubai Creek Harbour has evolved further in its second season with weekly free to the public events marking the theme of ‘Future of Living.’ Season 2 also places emphasis on children with a wide range of activities including the global children’s designathon. Every Friday and Saturday. RISE features live music, children’s play park, food vendors and food trucks, fitness classes, interactive pods, street performers, kids activities as well as a retail market.

You can enjoy the F&B spread such as Mama Italia, The Inventing Room, Khaleeji Tacos, Sushi Burrito and Camel Station, in addition to food trucks such as Moylos Burgers, Clinton Street Bakery, and Karak House.

In partnership with Live Nation, weekly shows featuring Barney, Bob the Builder, Barbie and many more iconic brands will be featured. All shows will be followed by meet and greet sessions for children to interact with their favourite characters.

Other activities include table sports, Halla Walla photo booth, Boon Coffee, face painting, mad science, and a variety of entertainment by Layla Kardan, Drums Circle, Roots Culture, Henry Boye, Jay Abo, Barney and Bob the Builder. There will be art installations as well as movie screenings.

To check out what shows and activities will be on when you visit, check out the schedule on their website here, to plan your trip accordingly, depending on who your kid’s favourite characters are!

During our visit last weekend, Master Z got the chance to dance along with Barney the Dinosaur, as well as shake his hand after the performance and pose for a photo. This was a first, since he is normally terrified of humans dressed as characters! There was also a Mime Artist making everyone laugh as he tumbled across the stage and interacted with the audience.

We also got to take part in the Drums Circle, where Master Z and Mr Z really enjoyed playing the drums to their heart’s content, whilst Master Z sang along to Shakira’s Waka Waka eh eh song! The whole vibe of the place is very chilled, thanks to the comfy bean bags that parents can lounge on.

The shaded play area is great to burn off all that toddler energy, with slides and two huge fish structures you can climb into. Master Z loved running up the rock climbing hill and sliding down, though the slide itself is quite steep, so be sure to supervise the kids when using those slides.

RISE is definitely a great spot to relax for the evening without worrying about whether the kids will be entertained, and we will surely be back plenty more times this winter season whilst it lasts, just as we did last season. If you haven’t been yet, I would highly recommend you check it out for a chilled weekend family evening! If you have visitors coming over from the homeland during the Christmas/ New Year holidays, this is definitely a great spot to visit with them too! The skyline backdrop of course makes for a great photo op!

You can follow RISE on Instagram for regular updates and head to their website here for directions.

This would have to be one of the best backdrops in Dubai – those sunsets! Sounds like such a fun interactive event for children as well as being near what looks like very cool park facilities.

missed the first season because of our extra long winter vacays in the states. Will make it a point to make it this time!
