There is no better way to spend your birthday than to put on a LBD, a sparkly one of course, and enjoy the day with loved ones. I did exactly that, and I thought I would share with you what I wore for the evening meal.

I celebrated turning 23 with my family at Qanat al Qasba, in Sharjah, which is such a beautiful tranquil place. Baby Z enjoyed splashing in the water fountain just under the giant Ferris wheel. (Thank goodness I carry a change of clothes, along with everything else under the sun, in my Marry Poppins bag, also known as the Changing Bag!)

My husband’s birthday gift, a beautiful black crystal Swarovski ring, went perfectly with my sequinned outfit, and I felt very spoilt indeed…apart from when I had to deal with a teething baby, but hey that’s all part of motherhood, and I am so blessed to have my little family. My feelings on being 23? It feels just right. For some strange reason, I feel my age, whereas in previous years I didn’t quite, and I am content with myself at this stage in my life. I am excited to see what this year has in store for me, and hope that the tranquility and happiness I felt on my birthday extends itself through out the year.
