DermoViva Baby Olive Range – Review…

I am all about the natural products when it comes to skincare, and especially where my little boy is concerned. So when DermoViva Baby came knocking on my door, I was very excited to try them out once I read that their products contain no harmful chemicals as well as no paraffins, parabens, sulphates and phthalates! In simple words, no nasties! Just the way Master Z likes them.

Seeing as Master Z did suffer from dry skin when he was a baby, I have been on the look out for natural products that promise to moisturise plenty, and the Olive Range does just that. Let me talk through each of the products I tested out and my experiences with each of them, including what worked or didn’t work for us.

DermoViva Baby Olive Moisturising Lotion – 200 ml

It is part of Master Z’s morning bathing routine that once I cradle him in my arms, wrapped up in his cosy towel, I lather him in a moisturising lotion from head to toe, before getting him dressed for the day. To be honest, it’s the only time he will actually stay still and let me cuddle him without running away, so I treasure this moment very much so.

Using the DermoViva Baby Olive Moisturising Lotion for the past few weeks, I have come to love it, especially because it does not have an overbearing smell. The lotion starts off with a slightly greasy texture and white marks, but after rubbing it in, the hydrating lotion is soon absorbed by the skin, leaving no residue or oiliness behind. The great thing about this lotion though is the squirt top packaging, which means I don’t need to faff around with opening and closing the lid to get the product out.

DermoViva Baby Olive Massage Oil – 200 ml

To be honest. since Master Z is now almost 3 years old, there isn’t much of Massaging going on in our household, and so I don’t tend to use a Massage Oil with him, though I definitely used to when he was a newborn. Master Z is indulged with a massage from his father on the occasional Friday when he decides he wants to sit still and be pampered, and trying out this DermoViva Baby Olive Massage Oil was definitely a treat. The oil has a very thin and smooth water-like consistency and the nutrients of Virgin Olive Oil protect and care for your baby’s delicate skin. This massage oil is perfect for newborns and babies by restoring moisture whilst giving them a much needed massage with your loving hands.

DermoViva Baby Olive Soft Cream – 100 ml

I am not quite sure what the difference is between this Dermo Viva Baby Olive Soft Cream, and the Moisturising Lotion, as both seem to achieve the same results of smooth, soft, moisturised skin, but it sure is handy to have a small 100 ml bottle of this stuff in his changing bag or in my handbag. Loaded with Virgin Olive Oil and the finest herbs, this cream provides the deep nourishment every little one’s skin needs.

DermoViva Baby Olive Shampoo – 200 ml

I have been loving using the DermoViva Baby Olive Shampoo with Master Z that is tear-free! Hooray! Using this shampoo does not take away from the fact that Master Z still wails like a tortured soul when having his hair washed, but it leaves the hair so incredibly silky soft. Again, the squirt top packaging ensure ease of use and I love that this product cleanses the delicate hair in the most natural way.

Overall

The DermoViva Baby Olive Range also includes the Olive Enriched Powder (300 g) and the Olive Baby Soap, which I haven’t tried out, but uses the same philosophy of enriching your little one’s skin without the use of any nasty chemicals. I think my favourite of the four above is the Olive Moisturising Lotion, with the Olive Shampoo coming to a close second. The packaging is well thought out, and the product themselves are great for young ones.

DermoViva products are available in Carrefour, Union Co-Op and Al Maya supermarkets in the UAE, retailing from AED 40.
