My Thoughts

A Princess is born…

Zulekha Hospital, Sharjah, UAE

If you follow me on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, you will know that the reason I have been out of the blogging scene for the past week is because I have just become an Aunty to a beautiful baby girl!

My sister gave birth to Baby A on 27th August, and both Mummy and Baby are doing great! I am so proud and overjoyed at welcoming a little princess into our family, and we are all smitten by her!

Baby Z’s reactions are so far full of smiles and exclamation. He is forever wanting to stroke her (though he is still a little heavy handed, so having to be quite careful with him) and is also giving her plenty of kisses. I can not wait to watch their sibling relationship blossom, and see them play/cause mischief together.

Baby A’s birth has also brought back a flood of memories of the birth and newborn stage of Baby Z, and oh my Baby Z looks so gigantic now compared to her! It is also lovely to experience once again all those precious moments of joy that a newborn brings, especially without the pains of labour this time! Hehe!

Below are a few snapshots of the day leading up to the birth of Baby A, mostly spent waiting in anticipation and trying to keep Baby Z busy and entertained.

Monitoring Baby A’s heartbeat before she came into this world.
The artwork in the delivery room had all of us baffled once we realised what we were really looking at. (Mr Z still couldn’t see the “baby in the womb” until about the 5th attempt of explaining it to him!) Can you see it?
Spotted this outside another delivery room, where the family had decorated the door with the newborn baby’s initial. It looked stunning!
Watching cartoons with Baby Z to pass the time. He only managed to sit still for a few minutes, before he ran off to play with the fridge door. It was also the first time my husband saw Teletubbies!
To celebrate Onam (Hindu Festival celebrated in Kerela) , the staff at Zulekha Hospital decorated the floor with a lovely floral pattern using flower petals. It was gorgeous!
Just look at the beach side view from the eighth floor of Zulekha Hospital. Baby Z was much entertained as he watched the cars, people and birds go by.
The Princess has finally arrived! Time to spoil her with all our love and attention!

Dearest Baby A,

Welcome to the world! You are truly loved by so many already, and you have brought so much happiness into all our lives. Personally, I can not wait to dress you up, style your hair, and pretty much spoil you like an Aunty absolutely should. I also can not wait to watch you and Baby Z become the bestest of friends. May Allah bless you with a long life, endless happiness and success in whatever you put your mind to. Love you, little princess.

Tight Hugs and Soft Kisses,

Aunty Zeyna
